Dixon Robertson

Dixon Robertson has been a lawyer in Columbia, South Carolina, for nearly 25 years. For the last eleven years he has run a solo practice. He represents building owners in construction defect cases, including class actions, and a wide variety of construction actors in commercial disputes. He is a member in the American Association for Justice and the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association.

Dixon has used computers in his practice for over twenty years. His first office computer was a Wang word processing terminal. He graduated to the "other" office suite and worked with it for fifteen years. Two years ago he took the plunge into Microsoft Office, and hasn't looked back since.

Late last year Dixon formed CasePoint LLC and became a Microsoft Registered Partner. With the rich training and support available in that program he is learning more each day about the capabilities of Microsoft's products.

"It's hard to overstate the flexibility and power SharePoint and Office offer the small law practice. For years we have been told to "leverage technology" so we can compete with the big firms - whatever that means. With SharePoint and, I hope, CasePoint, trial lawyers in small practices will find that lever. Best of all, it won't cost thousands of dollars a seat!"

Dixon lives in downtown Columbia with his wife and teenage daughter. He tries not to let his law practice and family interfere with his software development. Just kidding.
